On Great and Holy Friday, in the afternoon, during Vespers, during the singing of "Noble Joseph," the Epitaphon/Plaschanitsa, the icon of Christ's body prepared for burial, is carried in procession and placed in the tomb.
On Great and Holy Friday, in the evening, in the Matins service of Holy Saturday, after the Lamentations, we followed the Epitaphion/Plaschanitsa, the icon of Christ's body prepared for burial, in procession around our church, and, remembering the Myrrh-bearing women, some of the young maidens in the parish decorated it with flowers.
