Holy Pascha (Easter) was filled with awe and joy, as the Midnight Office (Nocturns) ended in deep darkness and anticipation, and finally light appeared behind the iconostas, and then chanting, and we all joined the saints and angels in heaven glorifying God for the return of the Light of Christ illumining the world! An awe-struck procession circled the church 3 times, singing with new church bells ringing (see a video!), and we returned to celebrate the Divine Liturgy on the Feast of Feasts, the Pascha of our Lord!
Several parishioners were blessed to chant verses of the Gospel of John in many languages, including Greek, Carpatho-Rusyn, French, Russian, German, Serbian, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Latin, Japanese, Romanian, Arabic, Indonesian and Polish!
After the joyous liturgy, the Pascha Baskets were blessed, and the fast was broken. We have only a few photographs so far, but please visit again soon, as we hope to have many more.
Agape Vespers followed the Paschal services later in the day, and after the service Reader Daniel captured some of the beauty of the church with its festal decorations, and the artos blessed on Pascha.
